Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is akin to a journey to the innermost self. The four Dhams- Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are nestled in the Garhwal Himalaya ranges in the state of Uttarakhand

The sacred Chardham yatra opens on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya of Chaitya month and remains open until
Bhai Dooj. The Yamunotri and Kedarnath Dham closes on Yama Dwitiya Bhai Dhooj whereas Gangotri Dham closes on the day of Diwali and the Badrinath temple closes on the day of Vijay Dashmi. The holy shrines of Chardham open every year with the arrival of the
summer season in April-May and close with the starting of winter season- Oct-Nov.
