Three persons to get environment award (June Week #1 (2015))
State environment awards will be conferred on C. Lakshman, Harish Joshi, and Parimala at a function to be held in Bengaluru on June 5 to mark World Environment Day.

The award carries a purse of Rs. 1 lakh and citation. Besides this, the Solid Waste Management Round Table, Bengaluru; Bantanuru Village Forest Committee, Mudhol range, in Bagalkot district; and Eco-Development Committee Aurali village; will receive awards
for their contribution to protecting the environment.

76% of e-waste workers suffer from respiratory ailments: Study (June Week #1 (2015))
MUMBAI: About 76 per cent of e-waste workers in India suffering from respiratory ailmentssuch as breathing difficulties, irritation, coughing, choking, tremors problems are engaged in various e-waste (electronic waste) activities due to improper safeguards
and dismantling workshops, a study by Assocham showed.
